Orchestral and operatic conductor, Maestra Aline Sardão is a native of Brazil. She began her electric bass studies at the age of seventeen under the tutelage of Ivani Sabino, and at the age of eighteen, she won the competition for young instrumentalists offered by Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, being awarded with an invitation to attend an instrument course at that institution.

Maestra Sardão holds a Master of Music in Instrumental Conducting from The Azusa Pacific University in the Studio of Christopher Russell.

In addition to being Music Director and Conductor of Northkirk Presbyterian Church, Aline has served as Music Director and Conductor of Orange County Symphony and the Performer's Academy of Orange County for two seasons (2016–18).

In 2017, Maestra Sardão was the Conductor Fellow of the California Philharmonic Orchestra, working alongside Maestro Victor Vener at Walt Disney Concert Hall.

Aline Sardão has most recently been appointed the Music Director and Conductor of Inland Opera, has conducted orchestras and ensembles in Europe, Brazil and United States and is also engaged in teaching, offering master classes and private lessons in Orange County, CA.

Sardão is a multi-instrumentalist who plays piano, bass and guitar. With a degree in orchestral conducting, she is comfortable performing in different styles from the symphonic classics to Pop, Jazz and Latin Music.
Brazilian born, she developed a special passion at an early age for Bossa Nova, Choro, Samba and Brazilian Jazz.

Jefferson Xavier is an awarded cellist who was featured as soloists with orchestras in Brazil and in the United States. He is an experienced musician specialized in chamber music. Brazilian born, Jefferson was influenced not only by the classical masters, but also by the great Jazz, Rock and Brazilian music performers.

During the 2020 Pandemic, the two friends decided to join forces and perform music that speaks deeply to their Brazilian roots.

Bossa Nova River Duo brings to the audience the richness of Brazilian rhythm combined with the warm melodies and tasteful dissonant harmonies of Jazz, an ideal combination for every special occasion!
