Via Instrumental Casting, Oliver appears as a cellist in Larry David's HBO Series: "Life, Larry, and the Pursuit of Unhappiness: An Almost History of America", as well as in commercials for Shiseido, Apple, T-Mobile, Fischer-Price, iPhone X, Humira, United Airlines, Bayer Migraine, Samsung, GMC and NIKE (twice). For the 2nd NIKE commercial, Oliver was recorded playing cello on the soundtrack for the commercial.
Also via Instrumental Casting, Oliver appears on commercials for AFI (clarinet), Liberty Mutual (tuba), Verizon (tuba), Progressive (sousaphone) and as a cellist in a main Keynote commercial at the 2025 Annual SAP Sapphire Convention (Systems, Applications and Products in Data Processing). SAP Sapphire is one of the most significant annual events in the tech and business world, organized by SAP, a global leader in enterprise application software.
Also via Instrumental Casting, Oliver appears as a cellist in the Disney+ Original with Billie Eilish and the LA Phil, called Happier than Ever; A Love Letter to LA and in music videos for Asake, Hilary Roberts 'Fight to the Other Side' and Aloe Blacc's 'Love is the Answer' which was also featured in a Lincoln car commercial.
Additionally, via Instrumental Casting, Oliver appears as a clarinetist on HBO's Perry Mason, on TV shows The Wonder Years, Curb Your Enthusiasm and Platform, in a Jonas Brothers music video and as a vocalist in Mark Wahlberg's The Gambler.
Additionally, via Instrumental Casting, Oliver played an Austrian Airlines special promo event in Hollywood, performed with Persian Artist Shahkar and guest artist Andrea Bocelli at the Dolby Theater and in Shahkar's 100 piece orchestra at the Microsoft Theater at LA Live, plus he improvised a solo cello soundtrack for the feature film Something About Her.
Oliver has also performed with LA Curbside Entertainment.
Oliver has played with the Golden State Pops Orchestra, Torrance Symphony, West LA Symphony, Downey Symphony, Sounds of Cypress Orchestra, Filipino American Symphony Orchestra, South Florida Symphony Orchestra and Huntsville Symphony Orchestra. He has done movie soundtrack recordings and plays solo cello in a YouTube video with over 200,000 hits of a cover of Miley Cyrus' Wrecking Ball, which he recorded with colleague Jennifer Foster.
Oliver has played solo and/or principal cello for numerous shows and classical concert series and has performed for weddings, cocktail hours, receptions, numerous orchestral concerts and other events, since 2004. Oliver studied with Manon Robertshaw, Stephen Green and most recently, with Dennis Karmazyan.
