Rebecca received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Trombone Performance from the University of California, Los Angeles, where she studied under the instruction of Los Angeles Philharmonic trombonist, James Miller. She received her Masters in Music degree from Arizona State University, where she studied under the direction of trombone educator, Brad Edwards. Rebecca attended these universities on scholarships from the UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music and the Herberger Institute of the Arts.
Throughout her studies, Rebecca has performed around the world, such as in the Pacific Region International Summer Music Academy (PRISMA), and the Lätzsch Trombone Festival in Heek, Germany. During her studies, she was a performing member of the UCLA Gluck Foundation Trombone Quintet and placed as a finalist in the 2020 ASU Concerto Competition. In her earlier years, Rebecca performed on the premiere of Frank Tichelli's Angels In The Architecture in Australia's Sydney Opera House, ranked 1st chair Trombonist multiple years in the California All-State Honor Band, and made her solo debut as the winner of Tulare King's Symphony's Young Artist Competition.
Rebecca enjoys devoting time to various freelance and performative work; one of these opportunities included recording with CMG Music Recording Studios for electronic producer/composer, Deadmau5, for his album "where's the drop?", followed by a live performance of this collaboration at the Los Angeles Wiltern Theater in 2019. Rebecca wishes to continue as a freelance musician and become more involved with studio recording work.
Along with a passion for music, Rebecca also discovered a deep love for yoga. She is a certified yoga instructor who enjoys creating a safe and enriching environment for her students to grow in. At the rise of our world's pandemic, Rebecca felt the essential need for providing a strong yoga practice to others, even at a distance. She took action in creating an online-teaching platform called Grounded Vibrations Yoga and has since been teaching yoga on Instagram Live and Zoom.
Rebecca enjoys the practice, dedication, and inspiration from both practicing yoga and trombone. She believes that a healthy yoga practice both inspires and benefits her practice as a musician, and wishes to continue integrating both these passions into her future.
