Music found Carlos Rivera at a young age and it has always been an integral part of his life. He started playing piano due to his grandmother not wanting him to waste his summers and from there he was led to the sound of the double bass and has never left its side.
Attending arts magnet LACHSA and the Colburn school on a scholarship helped lead him to Chapman University and later on to USC to study with local legend Dennis Trembly. He has also studied with Burt Turetsky, Chris Hanulic, and Nico Abondolo.
Carlos made his solo debut on the stage of Carnegie hall on an instrument that was borrowed just the night before. Ask him about it. Electric bass is also another tool of the trade Carlos picked up to further his musical endeavors.
He has headlined in historical venues up and down the sunset strip. Because of his versatility, Carlos has played in the pits of musical theater productions, on movie and other recording soundtracks and has worked with such artists as Andrea Bocelli at the Kodak Theater, Tom Hanks at the Hollywood Bowl, with the ska band, Streetlight Manifesto, and has recorded and performed with house legend Deadmau5 at The Wiltern
